Elder Johnny L. Moore was born in Blytheville, Arkansas to Mother Hettie L. Moore and the late Elder John Moore. He is the eigth of nine children. He attended school in the Blytheville Public School system, graduating in May 1973. He later attended Mississippi County Community College. He graduated as an honor student from the Charles Harrison Mason College of Bible Theology in 2001; on March 17th 2006 Elder Johnny L. Moore received his Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Charles Harrison Mason/L.T. Walker Graduate School of Theology.
Elder Moore accepted the Lord as his Savior in July, 1976 under the leadership of his father the late Elder John Moore. He accepted his call to the ministry in February, 1983 and was ordained in August, 1983 by Bishop L.T. Walker, Sr., in Little Rock, Arkansas. He served faithfully as drummer and organist for the Nehemiah Temple Church of God in Christ. He worked for his father in the ministry when and wherever he was needed.
In January 1985, Elder Moore was appointed pastor of the Keiser Church of God in Christ, Keiser, Arkansas, and under his leadership a new sanctuary was built and the Lord was adding to the church. In May 1987, he was appointed pastor of the Promiseland Church of God in Christ in Osceola, Arkansas, where he is still ministering the word of God to the people. A new sanctuary has been purchased, a new Family Life Center has been built and land purchased for future progress at the Promiseland Church during his leadership.
He is the husband of Sister Anita P. Moore since September 3, 1977. They are the parents of four children, two daughters Annette (Moore) Sullivan and Nina T. Moore, and two sons Johnny L. Moore, II, and Reginald P. Moore. They have six grandchildren, Danielle, Marty, Jasmine, Destiny, Johnny III and Jordan.
Elder Moore's love is the building of God's Kingdom.
